About Bob Harrington
Bob has many years of experience as a player, coached, and tournament event organizer. He is a Western NY native who played most of his amateur hockey with the Wheatfield Blades, and Amherst Hockey organizations. As an amateur player, Bob was the starting goalie for 4 State Championships, 2 National Championships, and won 2 gold metals at the Empire State Games. At the age of 15, he was one of only 3 boys from the US to be picked up in the OHL Draft by the Toronto Marlboros. To maintain his college eligibility he elected not to pursue an OHL carrier so he played JR. A II for the Orillia Travelways. Bob was recruited by Notre Dame, Western Michigan, Boston College, and West Point, and started as a freshman at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. As a four year starter, he set many school records, and took the team to four consecutive playoff births. Bob had an opportunity to play in Germany but declined so that he could finish his degree. Bob now resides in Orchard Park, NY and is currently employed as a Senior Sales Executive for a Software Company.
